Important Information

If you are not able to attend “Meet Your New Teacher Day”, please send a note with your child on the first day of school (8/26) letting me know the following information regarding the first few days of school:

    • Will your child be getting a snack drink (chocolate milk, white milk, apple juice, or orange juice)?

    • How will your child be getting home (bus # or who will be picking them up at school)?

    • Will your child be bringing a lunch, or will they have hot lunch?

Supplies 2019-2020

The following list of items would be most useful for this school year.

If possible, please bring these items to “Meet Your Teacher” so that your child does
not have to carry them on their first day of school.

For classroom community use:
  • Regular or Skinny Washable Markers
  • Crayola Crayons
  • 1 or 2 extra socks that will not be returned
(to be used as whiteboard erasers)

For your child’s personal use:
  • a change of clothes in a plastic bag. Please LABEL your child’s clothing!

  • 1 plastic pencil box (large enough to fit crayons and pencils)
  • 1 pocket folder with any picture/design on the front
(for your child to use during independent work time)

  • a 1 ½-inch, 3 ring binder with a clear plastic cover insert

  • (this will be used for your child’s 1st grade portfolio)

Other helpful items for our classroom include:

  • Skinny Black Whiteboard Markers
  • Crayola colored pencils
  • 1 box of tissues
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Composition Notebook (any size or color)

Welcome 2019-2020 Students

Welcome First Graders and Families!

I am very excited for this school year with you! If you are able to, please e-mail me at eyork@sau16.org so that I can update my address book with your information. Feel free to include your name(s) and your child's name, along with something fun you did over the summer. This will help me to create a mailing list, before school officially starts. I look forward to meeting you on Friday (8/23) between 1:00-2:00! -Emily York :)
